Florian Simon is a supporting character in the Netflix original series XO, Kitty.
Biography[]
Season 1[]
In KISS, as Kitty Covey tells Q that she thinks Dae Heon Kim’s relationship with Yuri Han is fake. Q however, is distracted by a French and Greek EXPAT student, Florian, and Kitty puts on her matchmaking shoes to get them two to date. Later that night, Florian follows Q on social media.
In TGIF, Q asks Florian and some other friends like Blake for a movie night but Min Ho rains on his parade when he starts talking about the behind-the-scenes trivia of the movie because his mother acted in it. After Blake remembers Min ho's mother's divorce, Q finds out that Florian's parents are also going through it. Florian ends up leaving but asks Q to keep their next movie date limited to the two of them next time.
In BYOB, Floria attends Min Ho's party with Q as his date. He is then asked by Kitty to distract her. Which Florian helps by mixing some alcohol in her drink. Later, Dae asks Q and Florian to explain to him what the gift that Kitty was talking about and they reveal details about the necklace.
In TIL, the students gather at the library for detention. Q is worried that dating him was causing Florian’s grades to fall. Florian promises that everything is under control because Professor Lee really liked him as a student. Later, when Professor Lee decides to take a pre-lunch roll call, Florian distracts him by asking to borrow a copy of Gilgamesh, which is not in the library. He is excited to share the copy with a student in need and decides to go home to bring it for Florian.
In LFG, with love being in the air, Q & Florian, along with Madison & Min Ho and Kitty & Dae let their emotions run rampant all over the city and the campus. Later, the students are then tasked with helping out a flooded home belonging to Ocean Park's grandmother and getting to work tidying the area. Q then finds out just how tough Florian’s life is at the moment when his boyfriend's parents are fighting over custody and child support and using him as a pawn. Florian admits to him that he fears that he may have to choose between parents and homes. To make matters worse, his grades not being up to par, may even mean that he has to move back to either France or Greece.
In SNAFU, unbeknownst to Florian, Dae and Min Ho spy on him while on their way to a coffee run. The two young men end up seeing Florian with another man and snap some photos. Min Ho and Dae eventually show Q the photos, leaving him to confront his partner. Q asks Florian if he is cheating on him. Florian admits that he is cheating, but not on Q. Rather, he’s paid for the answers to the tests so increase his test scores.
In OTP, Q confesses to Kitty about Florian and the whole cheating debacle. Kitty is shocked and judges Florian for this. Which ultimately causes a rift between Q and Kitty. Later, when the grades are posted in the boys dorms, because he cheated, Florian has come out as the number one student, even beating Dae. Q is annoyed that Florian stole Dae’s spot because of their friendship and their relationship is strained.
Season 2[]
In K.I.S.S. Me Again, Q tells Kitty that he informed the school of Florian cheating on finals after learning that Dae would lose his scholarship to attend KISS if not ranked first in class. This would lead to Florian being expelled from KISS, along with many other students who were caught cheating due to a school wide investigation beginning from Q’s report.
Appearance[]
Florian is a young man whose hair is short but somewhat purposely ruffled. He is also on the skinnier side.
Personality[]
He is very smart, and he studies very hard, but Kitty weaves some of her matchmaking magic in attempts to set him up with Q which results in him falling behind in his studies which leads to cheat. Kitty points out to Q by him buying old tests off an alumni and studying them for finals is unfair to the students who actually studied.
