New Year's Kiss

New Year's Kiss is the third episode of Season 2 of the Netflix series XO, Kitty and the thirteenth overall. It aired on January 16, 2025.

Synopsis[]

During Seollal, Kitty and Praveena enlist Min Ho's help for a heist, Juliana confronts Yuri, and sparks fly from a bonding moment years in the making.

Plot[]

Things are awkward between Kitty and Juliana after Kitty accidentally reveals Yuri and Juliana’s relationship to Principal Lee, prompting Yuri to move back in with her mom. Yuri seems happy back at her mom's house as they had a lot of talks to reconnect. Juliana eventually tells Yuri it was Kitty’s suggestion to reconnect with her mom, not Juliana's, but Yuri doesn't care. Later, they get into a fight when Yuri arrives late to Juliana’s art exhibition because she was spending time with Kitty, which upsets Juliana.

During the Seollal celebrations, Min Ho’s father organizes a talent show with a cash prize for the winner. Min Ho encourages Dae to participate, and Dae teams up with Eunice to perform a dance routine. The two hit it off, even though Dae struggles with the dance parts. Eunice encourages him and praises his singing abilities. She also tells him he's cute.

Kitty and Praveena recruit Min Ho for a heist in the Archives department to steal a time capsule that Kitty’s mom had contributed to. Inside, they find a videotape that Kitty and Yuri watch together. The tape reveals that Eve and Jina were friends and that Simon, Eve's cousin, was the one filming. Kitty tears up watching this video of her mom, who says she hoped one day to have a daughter and to marry someone kind.

At the end of the episode, Kitty and Yuri share a kiss just as Min Ho walks in and catches them.
