Yuri Han

Yuri Han is one of the main characters in the Netflix Original Series XO, Kitty. She is the daughter of Jina Lim and Mr. Han. She is Alex Finnerty’s maternal younger half-sister. She is portrayed by Gia Kim.

Background[]

Yuri is a rich, gorgeous and famous social media star who is the daughter of two extremely successful parents: the high-powered hotel magnate Mr Han and the principal of KISS Jina Lim.

Yuri is a girl with long black hair, and typically wears pink/other bright colors

Personality[]

She’s a paparazzi magnet, which means she has to keep her deepest secrets close to the vest.

She likes shopping and continuously buys things with her credit card. She wears something pink in all of her outfits except when she's in uniform.

She also really likes music and making music mixes for the people who are close to her, like her girlfriend Juliana or her friend Kitty. She's an excellent DJ as shown when she DJs at the party.

Season 1[]

Yuri and Kitty meet when Yuri’s driver accidentally bumps into Kitty. They quickly bond, with Kitty sharing her plans to visit Korea and surprise her boyfriend, while Yuri reveals she likes someone but can’t be with them. Tension arises later at a party when Yuri introduces her boyfriend, Dae, leading Kitty to leave upset. Yuri informs Kitty that Dae has been cheating on both of them, intensifying the situation. The following day, Yuri sarcastically bids Kitty goodbye, thinking she’s leaving, but later Yuri tells Dae she’s fine with Kitty knowing their relationship is fake, as long as the true reasons behind it remain hidden.

Yuri and Kitty are forced to interact more, with the two making a bet during a hike and bonding over their mothers. However, Yuri’s jealousy resurfaces when Dae returns, and she asserts her dominance by making Kitty take a photo of them. After spending Chuseok with Dae, Yuri finds a necklace and a note from Kitty, keeping it without telling Dae. Later, Yuri is touched when she overhears Kitty defending her, and later helps her during a drunken moment, unaware that Kitty had a dream about them.

After a fight with Dae, Yuri goes to return Kitty’s necklace, only to learn about her staying in the boys’ dormitory, leading to a confrontation. They later discover that their mothers shared a connection, with both having matching necklaces. Yuri helps Dae win Kitty’s trust back, while also coming out to Kitty about her sexuality. The two prepare for Dae and Kitty’s upcoming date. Yuri moves into the boys’ dorm with Kitty after confronting her mother about her sexuality, and the two share a growing closeness. However, their relationship hits a rough patch when they argue over Yuri's mother’s revelations.

Yuri is caught between her growing feelings for Kitty and her responsibilities to her family. She tries to reconcile with Kitty, but things become more complicated when Juliana, her girlfriend, comes back.

Season 2[]

Yuri is dealing with a lot this semester at K.I.S.S. After coming out to her mom, she struggles with her mother’s lack of acceptance and the emotional distance that follows. Her mom’s initial support fades when she refuses to let Yuri share her identity with the rest of the family, which causes further strain on their relationship. Her mother’s absence as she retreats to Thailand adds to her feelings of isolation. Yuri finds solace in her friendships, particularly with Kitty, and tries to manage her complicated feelings about her family situation. She hosts a dinner for her friends, during which she gives an emotional speech about the importance of the "family" she has found at K.I.S.S.

Yuri is in a relationship with Juliana and they both live together in the dorm with Kitty. They are all over each other, but their connection is tested by the drama surrounding Kitty. After their relationship is inadvertently revealed by Kitty to the school, Yuri moves back in with her mother, hoping for a fresh start and the opportunity to reconnect with her. However, this creates more tension between her and Juliana, especially when Yuri spends time with Kitty, further complicating her feelings. Despite the challenges, Yuri remains committed to her relationship with Juliana.

However, Yuri and Kitty share a romantic kiss unexpectedly one day. Juliana finds out and breaks up with Yuri, who desperately tries to win her back to no avail. In the end, they agree to be friends. Yuri and Kitty's friendship also survives, after a brief break when Yuri was trying to distance herself from Kitty.

Yuri's family also goes broke after a lawsuit is filed, so Yuri's credit cards won't work and she realizes life is about to change a lot.

Kitty is Yuri's rival turned friend.

In XO Yuri and Kitty meet for the first time when Yuri's driver accidentally bumps onto Kitty while driving and after making sure she is okay, Yuri agrees to give her a ride to KISS.

They two quickly start a conversation and bond. Kitty tells Yuri about her going to Korea to surprise her boyfriend and connect with her mom, and when she keeps asking questions about her love life, she manages to have Yuri tell her that she does like someone, but it's not possible for them to be together. As Yuri asks Kitty why she has so many questions, Kitty tells her that she does that when people interest her, which makes Yuri laugh and say she must be lucky then.

Animosity starts between them later that day at the Welcome Party when Yuri introduces Dae as her boyfriend, resulting in Kitty leaving upset.

In WTF when Kitty goes back to the party, Yuri tells her that Dae has only been cheating on Kitty the whole time after she tries to earn Yuri's solidarity and bond over the fact that Dae supposedly played both of them, resulting in making Kitty even more upset.

The next day, as Dae and Kitty's moment gets interrupted because of Dae having to come to the conference with the Han family, Yuri sarcastically bids Kitty goodbye, thinking she was going to leave KISS.

In KISS when asked by Dae, Yuri states that she's okay with Kitty knowing that their relationship is fake as long as Dae doesn't tell her about the reason she is dating him.

However, after finding out about Kitty revealing Min Ho's secret (which Dae had told her) to the whole school she is worried and tells Dae, resulting in his decision not to tell Kitty.

In TGIF, as soon as Yuri finds out about Kitty and Dae both being in the Outdoors Club and going on a hike she joins too, stopping Kitty from talking to Dae and mocking her the whole time because of her fiasco during the Party. As the two continue to argue, they make a bet about who will arrive first on top of the mountain ; Kitty wins and they end up talking to each other about their moms when Kitty tells Yuri that their moms were best friends.

However as soon as Dae comes back Yuri returns to her possessive girlfriend persona and asks Kitty to take a photo of them to assert her dominance.

In TBH when Yuri leaves Dae's house after spending Chuseok with him, she runs into the delivery who brought Kitty's necklace back to Dae and after reading sweet note that came with it, she keeps it without telling Dae anything.

In BYOB at Min Ho's party Yuri accidentally hears Kitty defending her from a guy talking shit about her looks and is extremely touched, so she helps her by separating her from the guy knowing her drunkeness was confusing her and brings her water and food to make her feel better. Unknowingly to Yuri, the next day Kitty has a sex dream about the two of them.

In TIL, the day after the party, before going to detention with the other students who got caught at the party, Yuri goes to Kitty's dorm to return the necklace after she and Dae fought but learns that she has actually stayed in the boys dormitory the whole time and gets upset, threatening Dae to expose Kitty if he breaks up with her.

In the library, where detention is held, she gets confronted by Kitty for wearing the necklace but then Jina Lim arrives, thinking it was hers, making Yuri and Kitty understand that their moms had matching necklaces.

As professor Lee leaves, going to the bathroom, Yuri asks Kitty to accompany her in the yearbook section to find the 1993 yearbook, the year of the graduation of their moms : Yuri wants to find information to destroy her mother.

When they can't find it they leave and go trough the stuff in Jina's office, not finding anything except an email confirming that Jina kicked out Juliana. Even more upset, Yuri goes with Kitty to Professor Lee's habitation on campus to find his copy of the yearbook since he was the same age as their moms.

They bond and discover that their moms share the same favorite song ( Everybody Wants To Rule The World ) and hide when Lee comes into the house. After he leaves they find the yearbook with a photo of Jina and Eve together and Yuri gives the necklace back to Kitty. The two manage to sneak out and go back to the library on the time without Lee noticing.

Later, Yuri publicily breaks up with Dae, (pretending to be sad because he loves Kitty) so she can make both of her friends happy.

In LFG during the school camping trip, Yuri promises Dae she'll help him earn Kitty's trust (who questions why he fake dated Yuri) so they can really be together. Therefore, she asks to room with Kitty and comes out to her, telling her about Juliana and the reaction towards her sexuality. She encourages her to get back with Dae and prepares her for the date he planned for her. Kitty then promises to find Juliana.

Later that night, thanks to Kitty Yuri can finally call Juliana, unaware of Kitty's jealously.

In SNAFU after the camping trip Yuri confronts her mom about Juliana, comes out to her and then leaves the house, moving into the boys dorm with Kitty. Yuri then tells her about Alex (whom she found out about by accidentally eavesdropping during her parents conversation) unaware that Kitty already knows, and states that like their moms, they're the next generation of best friends.

The next day, Yuri offers to teach Kitty fan dancing so she can participate in the school talent show and earn credit, which she needs to better her grades. She even declines Juliana's calls to help Kitty, saying that she needs her more and she can't lose her now. When Kitty replies that she can't lose her either and leans in trying to kiss her, Yuri is surprised and questions it before they get interrupted by the other girls entering.

The night of the talent show Yuri tries to confront Kitty about the rehearsal before going on stage, but just then her mother arrives, telling her that Alex is her half-brother and she thought Kitty had told her. Yuri is disappointed and she and Kitty end up arguing.

In OTP Yuri is at the airport waiting for Juliana when Kitty runs into her, and just as she starts confessing, thinking she won't ever see Yuri again, Juliana arrives and she and Yuri hug as Kitty leaves heartbroken. When Yuri notices that she left she's sad because she wanted to introduce her and Juliana and stops to call her mom so she can convince her to let Kitty back onto KISS, even though this upsets Juliana.

Dae Heon Kim[]

Dae is the son of the Han family's chauffeur and Yuri's tutor and then friend.

In XO Yuri introduces Dae as her boyfriend to Kitty at the Welcome Party, greatly upsetting her and causing her to run away.

In WTF Yuri stops Dae from running after Kitty, fearing that her mother will notice it and be suspicious.

As they temporarily leave the Party and walk in the hallway, she gets thanked by Dae for paying his fees, and he questions her about her parents approving her dating her tutor and son of the family chauffer, she brushes it off saying her mother will ask her immediately to break up with him so it's a temporary thing.

Back into the Party, Yuri introduces Dae as her boyfriend to a shocked Jina in front of Madison. Later, when Kitty confronts Dae on cheating on both of them Yuri states that he was only cheating on Kitty as she already knew.

Yuri then introduces Dae to her father as everyone in the room focuses on the couple, wondering how they got together.

The next day, as the image of Yuri's father is ruined by a video of him assaulting his staff, Yuri gets asked to bring Dae to a conference to show the public how nice it was of Mr Han to let his daughter date the chauffeur's son. Once he gets in the limo, Yuri tells him about the conference.

Min Ho[]

Min Ho is one of Yuri's acquaintances.

Though she doesn't know, he's the one who told Dae to keep her close and to not ruin his chances with her, suggesting him to avoid Kitty.

Yuri gets warned from him about Kitty being in the Outdoors Club with Dae, and that's the reason why she comes, not wanting people to suspect anything about the fakeness of their relationship and worrying that something might happen publicity between Kitty and Dae.

Juliana Porter[]

In XO Yuri mentions Juliana indirectly while talking to Kitty in the limo, saying she likes someone but can't be with them.

After dropping Kitty at KISS she checks her phone to see if Juliana has answered her texts and is very disappointed to see she hasn't.

When, as soon as she arrives at school she gets called by her mother into her office and confronted about being seen "embracing intimately" Juliana by her housemaid, Yuri denies everything and asks Jina to trust her ; she then lies, adding that she's been seeing someone her and her father wouldn't approve of and promises to introduce them to him at the Welcome Party.

In WTF Yuri tries to contact Juliana multiple times at the Party, failing ; after she asks Eunice and Mihee about her and they can't seem to be able to reach her either, she worries even more. That night she tries to text Juliana but once again, she can't seem to reach her.
